The provision of metal cook stoves with chimneys was first rolled out in Nele village in the months prior to the earthquakes of 2015. They proved so popular that requests from other villages soon followed. To date over 770 stoves have been funded. The most recent were distributed November 2018 and we are busy fundraising for more stoves to be provided this autumn.
Remote rural Nepal, is for many reasons, one of the most challenging environments in which to provide health care. Increasingly poverty and debt are driving people from the rural village to seek work in overcrowded Kathmandu or in the middle east (where conditions can be exploitative). Local income generating initiatives are therefore a priority. Read more...
